Vicaus (Vietnam • Canada • United States)

Our family migrated to Canada from Vietnam and later spent time in the United States through family sponsorship. After years of living and learning across three countries, we chose Canada as the place to settle—guided by its values, stability, and strong sense of community.

Vicaus Orchard is a family-run orchard built on patience, care, and respect for the land. We grow apples, Asian pears, European pears, and cherries using thoughtful, sustainable practices tailored to our local climate and soil.

Spanning 109 acres of fertile countryside in Smiths Falls, between Ottawa and Kingston, Ontario, our orchard is located in a region known for its clean air, dependable water sources, and balanced growing conditions. Cold winters support tree dormancy and renewal, while warm summers and long daylight hours encourage healthy growth and the development of high-quality, flavorful fruit.

The land benefits from naturally rich soils, clear groundwater, and reliable seasonal rainfall—ideal conditions for cultivating hardy North American fruits. Access to clean, abundant water allows our orchard to be managed responsibly and sustainably for the long term, ensuring the health of both our trees and the land itself.

With each changing season, the orchard comes to life—from spring blossoms and summer growth to the quiet anticipation of harvest. Our work is hands-on and intentional, guided by daily care for the trees, close attention to weather, and a commitment to nurturing healthy fruit from root to branch. Every harvest reflects a careful balance between nature’s rhythms and responsible stewardship.

Vicaus Orchard is more than a place where fruit is grown—it is a growing agricultural community shaped by experience, tradition, and a deep respect for nature. Here, we work in harmony with the land, connecting the natural strengths of this region directly to your table.

“When we work with nature, the land rewards us.”
